The Vanishing Rural Landscape

The Vanishing Rural Landscape is a collection of paintings done on site in northern Baltimore County and southern York County. The paintings are of local farms and open spaces. Increasing development in this area are slowly replacing working farms and open spaces with housing developments, gas stations, and other commercial development. The rural landscape is slowly disappearing. The paintings in this show document the open spaces that remain. The installation of tree limbs and milkweed pods show a juxtaposition of the natural habitats that are the first to go with the end results of housing developments and commercialization. .
