About Leigh
Baltimore County
I was born in London, England and moved to Baltimore to pursue an MFA. I now teach 3-D and Sculpture at Towson University as an adjunct professor and maintain a studio in Baltimore.
My work includes large scale installation, performance, clothing, metal and wood. In fact I will use any material I think will work. I am very interested in changes; changes in time, bodies and materials. I am insatiably curious, so experimentation is important.

Padded Cell
Padded Cell was an installation in a storage container situated in lot 14 of Towson University.
The entry took the viewer straight into a small compartment where they were surrounded by 'fat cells'. Each 'cell' consisted of a water filled bag covered with damp salami skin. As the skin dried it tightened around the bag and gave it an engorged look.
The musty odor of the materials and the container, and the confined space gave an organic, claustrophobic atmosphere.
The installation was open for two hours each evening after sunset and lit only by small solar powered lights.
Medium: wood, water filled bags, salami skins, paint and solar lights

The stone Conundrum
This project is ongoing and based on the weight unit of one stone (14lb).
Each piece uses salami skin and other materials including fat.
Each piece with fat has 14lb of fat. Pieces with scales have the scale fixed at 14lb.

Beeboxes
Because of my interest in change, whether changes in bodies or materials, I began thinking about pollinators. How their simple movements affect us all so greatly.
I began making oversized and undersized habitats with a combination of materials. Wood with pvc, steel with bamboo, 3-d printings with steel, copper, brass.
