Growth in the Gallery
In this project I am exploring the potential of growth I have within the gallery walls. I incorporate growing plants into my sculptures and examine how the sculptures change as the plants grow. I am also choosing plants link to my personal childhood homes location such as tomato plants and lush green grass.
Exploring the Decorative
With this project I am starting to explore the long history, meanings, and representations of the plant 'Acanthus Mollis' and the decorative influence its had over generations. This plant is the inspiration for Greek Corinthian columns. The leaves of this plant are ornate and beautiful which lends endless potential.

IMG_4209.jpgThe top section of this sculpture is a lid. When you lift the lid you can fill the bottom three sections with water. The bottom section is not glazed allowing the water to absorb into the porous clay body. If there were plants around the sculpture it would water them.

Processing Construction
With this body of work I examined middle class homes during the construction process. I explored the development of a house and how it becomes a home. I was drawn to the ephemeral quality of these interior spaces and the participants and/or occupants that created and inhabited them.
