bible series
With this series of work I am taking stories from the bible and putting them in a context that relates to modern society based off of my personal experiences, and social issues. My process to create this work involves first finding a story from the bible to use. Once a story has been found I begin to sketch out a composition and research imagery via Internet. Once the sketch has been made I then tear out pages from the bible (including the story being used) and gesso the pages on a piece of linen. I then paint the modernized stories from the bible using an Ancient Egyptian art style. The influences for these works are Renaissance and Egyptian art. The purpose of these works is whatever the viewer takes away.
