In the Eclipse

This project combines self portraits and still lives in a series of photo's that explores the cycle of human emotion experienced after a traumatic event. Using the void as a stage for the psyche, I recreate moments of loneliness, anguish, and resignation to illustrate the many facets of trauma. Concurrently, I use self-portraiture to investigate the antinomy of the tormentor and tormented; using the figure to portray both at different parts of the cycle. Ultimately, this body of work aims to relate to the individual and draw out a realization of normality in ones emotional despondency, whilst also enabling the viewer to reconcile their experiences.
