Two Birds Too Close
Two Birds Too Close is a site-responsive installation on the roof of an alleyway garage. Built and taken down in a single day, this installation incorporates found materials that reflect the degenerative quality of objects already present in the surrounding environment. Two Birds Too Close satirizes and transforms the roofscape with playful constructions and reconfigurations. The kinetic, light-emitting, and assemblage sculptures act to hyperbolize dynamic moments of interaction that are normally present on rooftop spaces.
Now and Never
Now and Never is an installation made up of found and fabricated materials. This space is made to examine our relationship to objects. The functional objects present in this piece are consumed and discarded, left to possess lives of their own. Now and Never imposes an environment full of misinterpretations and empty answers. Abstracted faces appear throughout Now and Never, smiling as the viewer follows drawn pathways and pointed fingers that lead to nowhere. The man-made objects now mimic and mock our human desires as we walk through a space that we no longer narrate.
In Between
In Between is a site-specific installation located in the attic of The Peale Center for Baltimore History and Architecture. This installation is made up of materials found in the basement of The Peale and acts as a careful consideration for how the past remains in the present. The placements and constructions within this space function as portals that reveal shadows, nooks, and movements.
A plastic bag holds onto a vent, rocking back and forth against a discarded acrylic stand, creating a consistent rustling throughout the space. Worn-out windows hanging from the slanted tape stripped ceiling lead to framed scenes calling for a moment of thoughtfulness.
