Garnet's profile

I was born in the Bronx, NY but grew up in Reisterstown, MD. While adjusting to a suburban lifestyle.  Meanwhile, I was living a double life. My famliy relocated to Baltiomore City.  My mother found an activity for me to belong to in hopes of helping me to adjust to the city life. The Travis Winkley Modeling Studio became my second home, it was my outlet into the arts.  Cosmetology is just one area I studied at the Modeling studio.  I attended college for psychology at Baltimore City Community College. I returned to New york to attend F.I.T. while persueing my ballroom career in runway category.  I was proposed a once in a lifetime opportunity as a celebrity wardrobe stylist sssistant.  So, I packed up and moved to hollywood. I have an affinity for expression and an infinity of expressions through art, music and, most predominantly, words.

My life has been a story that has begun to be written.  My life mission is to give to the people of this world a better and clearer understanding of who we are; showing them that we are people with the same needs and wants.

WE ARE HUMANS .

I testified in Annapolis to help get the Transgender Right Bill in Maryland to be passed. Also as an HIV counselor and tester. I am a mother, a sister, a friend, a co-worker, a cousin, a daughter, an aunt and a voice for those who feel that their voice does not matter.  I speak for those marginalized and defranchised.  I am their voice.

I AM LISA REVLON

I AM A WRITER

It would be my journey through life… like most

That I would learn about in school,

Telling myself, I will hire someone to write my memoir

A ghost writer

And after three trials all three got caught up in the story –

And I would find myself picking the pen.

I AM A FILM MAKER

When I found myself

Standing there asking myself:

Is this real ?

Because this is something you only see in a movie,

And it has all the components of a movie.

I AM AN ADVOCATE

It would be my learning

From a kid as well as

The Ten Commandments

That seemed to struck me

As well as those who fought for the rights of others before me

That would become my raw models

Inspiring me to speak up.
