Joyce Scott

Joyce J. Scott (b. 1948, Baltimore, MD) has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and a Masters of Fine Arts from the Instituto Allende in Mexico. She’s best known for her figurative sculptures and jewelry using free form, off-loom bead weaving techniques, similar to a peyote stitch. Scott is renowned for her social commentary on issues such as racism, sexism, violence and stereotypes. as well as themes of spiritual healing. Scott's works are held by:

Jen Grow

Jen Grow’s collection, My Life as a Mermaid, was winner of the 2012 Dzanc Books Short Story Collection Competition. Her short fiction and nonfiction have appeared in The Writer’s Chronicle, Other Voices, The Sun Magazine, The GSU Review, Hunger Mountain, Indiana Review, Faultline and many others including the anthology City Sages: Baltimore (City Lit Press, 2010). She’s received a Rubys Award for the project "My Father's House" from the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance; two Individual Artist Awards from the Maryland State Arts Council; and her stories have earned nominations for Best New American Voices and a Pushcart Prize.
