About Ellyn

I'm a Maryland native, and graduated from MICA with a BFA in printmaking in 2010, having previously studied painting and drawing at the University of Georgia's Lamar Dodd School of Art. Right now I'm a Fulbright fellow in Turkey, studying traditional Turkish shadow puppetry. My own work with shadow puppets allows me to combine my graphic visual style with my interest in traditional song and narratives.

The Crow Fairy

A shadow puppet show from a Turkish fairytale, with (mostly) traditional American music. Put together in about a week and performed live at the Golden West Cafe, in Baltimore, Maryland, August 6th, 2010! Upon returning to Baltimore, I would like to continue with collaborative projects like this one.
