After not painting for a number of years(addiction,homelessness) I began doing portraits in march 2016..At first just sketches (not shown)  ,then I began adding backgrounds I thought appropriate,using a mix of photos,  digital tools , watercolor ,ink,  some colored pencil, some acrylic.   This first grouping are from this period in early 2016.

I begin to mix things up a bit with different elements besides just foreground/background...ink..watercolor and digital mixing..sometimes reprinting and reworking..also using collage devices.

This grouping from later in 2016 uses the same as earlier but more paint..straight cut and paste collage.

This group was made concurrent with the other late 2016 stuff..More digital cut paste and imported paint scans and tape(some digital some real).. These became a working ground for other ideas and tests...Im not sure of the showability of these but I like them and there fun to make.
