I started taking pictures when I was 12, which was a very long time ago. I was fascinated by every part of the process that was required to make images. My favorite subject was always people and with a focus that is part of youth, it became incredibly important for me to master making informal portraits of the people in my life. It still is. I hope to let you know when I finally get it right.
After quickly exhausting the circle of people who I knew, I struck out into the world with a camera clenched tightly in my hands and began to explore.
That exploration continues decades later and even today, I still feel that the process is occasionally more successful when I lead with the camera.
