PNC Grant - Sunflower Village

This public art experience was created in conjunction with CivicWorks and the Franklin Sq Community. We collaborated with the community to design the murals, and led screen printing workshops with the local youth to create the seed flags. Once an abandoned lot, this park now symbolizes growth and teamwork. We are currently working with the Franklin Sq community to expand the sunflower theme throughout the community.

PNC Grant 2014 - Children's Garden (work in progress)

The Children’s Garden will be a place of energy and harmony, a collaboration between artists, gardeners, community members, and nature. In contrast to the garden, the art will be large, colorful, and bold. 9 kinetic sculptures will stand tall throughout the park, encouraging people to enter and wander through. The kinetic sculptures will grow upwards like trees, simulating a forest of color. Large colorful Pinwheels will sit atop 9 ft poles. When the wind blows The pinwheels will spin, the spinning will trigger a small motor and illuminate LEDs that will be mounted on the top of the poles. The space will be alive with movement and light illustrating the connection we have to our environment every time the wind blows.
