Marcell Russell's Music

These songs are previous recordings just to introduce myself musically to you; it is a collection from my catalog of original music. I have written almost 800 songs and would love financial support to record my next album concept. The album I want to record now I'm hoping will include about 15 different musicians. I don't want allot of sampling and pre-recorded sounds. This is going to be the most musical album I've written to date. I'm hoping to receive enough from the Baker Artist to and market it to the public. If my music helps restore marriages, keep families together, minimize abuse, deepen spirituality then I did my job as a singer and writer in my opinion and you would have helped that happen. Thank you
  • Seed You Water
This is a song about the difference between desiring things and expressing dreams vs actually investing your time and energy to obtain those things you desire and/or dream about. The only seed that grows is the one you water for better or for worst. This song is two stories wrapped up into one. Story #1 Jeff shares he desire publicly to any and all that would listen about his business dream. After three years he noticed one of the guys name Shawn that he shared his dream with, but didn't see much, opened a business that resembled Jeff's exact dream business model. When Shawn sees Jeff he jumps out of his car immediately and says, “Jeff, bro thank you I had a similar dream as the one you shared about a few years back but didn't think it could happen but after I heard you I told my wife and really started believing maybe I could build a business too. I was hoping to maybe talk to you more about it but when I didn't see you again I started taking classes.
  • Breathe Love
  • Wish You Were Here
I wrote this for a few reasons but none deeper than my brothers suicide due to depression in 2006. He was only 23 working in school to become an attorney. He was a great singer in his own right and musician. He had a 7 month old beautiful daughter when he died but she and other things were not enough to inspire him to live any longer through his pain.
  • Abuse My Mind
Every 9 seconds a woman is abused by a man. Every 40 seconds a man is abused by a woman. We all have ways that we retaliate because of something that hurt or offended us and often we feel justified in the way we "pay you back for it". Some of us "RETALIATE" verbally, some physically, some retaliate through constant abandonment by either leaving physically or simply disconnecting emotionally, some retaliate by leaving situations unresolved, some retaliate through silence, some use withholding sex, some try to disconnect children's love, others constant manipulation by devaluing. Abuse, though ALL of US do it in some form is simply un-divine & wrong and not God's plan in order to get what we want from each other. Seek guidance with your specific style of abuse for your sake and others. Love deeply. Pray for God to always help you see your value and the value of others.
  • Can't Wait
It's hard to embarrass new love and if it grows right - forever love.
  • Baggage
"We all have baggage. Find someone who loves you enough to help you unpack" -Unknown
  • You Saved Me
This song is about a love so deep that it changed the way this person allowed others to treat them. This love changed how they saw themselves and the world...It saved them.
  • Symbols
What do you want, no like really want? This song is about someone who overtime refused to get quiet enough to figure out what they genuinely wanted in life financially, romantically, in friendships, in building a family, spiritually and hated the thought of considering what it would take to get it. For multiple reasons, they stop feeling worthy to get what they desired out of life so after awhile they began to master becoming what everyone else wanted. Finally they decided what they would go for is what they hoped would impress others the most and that became their whole life. Even though they grew more insecure and inwardly bitter they mastered making what ever was popular their desired image and identity. They made it their...Symbol.
