The human eye sees a sliver of the whole. And so these paintings are a sliver of space, a momentary standstill in time. The nine 81 x 12 inch oils on canvas are my responses to phrases found in poems. They are like drilled ice tube samples whose clues point to ancient markers dredged up into the present. These slices of vision seem complete within a truncated whole. More detail information about these nine sliver paintings can be found in the following projects: Verse to Vision - A Visual Response to Poems - Maj Ragain and Verse to Vision- A Visual Response to Poems - Janet Lewis and Tim Joyce.
