OnCurating 42

In 2016 I met Louis Hughes as I was working on the Queer Interiors show at the BMA. Louis is a Baltimore legend, having come out of the closet in the early 70s, and been involved in the fouding of many of Baltimore's LGBTQ institutions. He is a font of history, and a great storyteller. I wrote about him for the Aug 2019 issue of OnCurating, with an eye towards the importance of preservation of the histories of greatly marginalized people.
