"Expectations" was fully funded by a 2010 Individual Artist grant from The Baltimore Promotion of the Arts and the Maryland State Arts Council, and by fans through a successful Kickstarter campaign.
The album was a grand experiment; Sahffi gave 10 different producers 10 different tracks with no "expectations" on how to produce the songs.
The result highlights Sahffi as a musical chameleon, with genres ranging from folk to rock, hip hop to trance. It highlights Sahffi's unique ability to perform and shine in many different styles of music.
“’Expectations’ is a good example not just of Sahffi’s songcraft, but of how well she blends with others, as the album was a community effort in many senses of the word.”
