Yulia's profile

Yulia Hanansen is a second generation artist. She was born in Moscow, Russia and moved to the United States in 1991. She has studied and worked in New York City and Ann Arbor, Michigan before moving to Baltimore in 2009.
Yulia's artwork is in fine art mosaics and printmaking media. She has won numerous awards, including Best in Show at Mosaic Arts International and Best in Print award. Her Mosaic Sphere Studio company has been producing mosaics for private and public clients  for interior and exterior architectural spaces.  In addition to mosaic arts Yulia is an adjunct professor at Towson University teaching printmaking courses.
Yulia's personal artwork is based on the themes of cosmos and more earthly subjects such as topographical views, distribution of water, and forces of nature. She is currently working on series of mosaics and prints dealing with the issues of water and its impact on life and sustainability. Other series of works showcases forces of nature and now they are changing due to human influence on climate change.
Yulia's works have been exhibited in the galleries nationwide and internationally: Philadelphia, Chicago, Seattle, Tacoma, San Francisco, New York City, Baltimore, Mesa, Miami, Houston, Italy. Work has been collected by patrons in the USA (AZ, MA, NY, CA, IL, FL, GA, MI, TX, WA, OH, PA, NJ, OR), Russia, Lithuania, Uzbekistan, Israel, Australia, Italy, South Korea, and South Pole.
