Randall's profile

I began drawing and painting as a child. I continued adopting new techniques and media into my repertoire as the years passed. My vision evolved in several directions. I’ve been recognized for my efforts having received awards for my paintings, photographs and sculptures. I’m probably best known for my creation of the iconic 30’ Pink Flamingo which adorns the facade of Baltimore’s Cafe Hon’ in Hampden.

My art studies took me to Baltimore, Maryland; Florence, Italy; San Antonio, Texas as well as Oxbow in Saugatuck, Michigan. I’ve earned both my Bachelors (with honors) and Masters degrees
from the Maryland Institute, College of Art. I’m a life-long learner having attended 9 colleges thus far.

My photographs have been published in local Baltimore media, (Baltimore Sun and the Baltimore City Paper) internationally in the NACLA (North American Congress on Latin America) online and in Michigan Blue magazine.

I’ve spent time working in Washington D.C. at the Library of Congress, National Museum of American History and National Geographic Society. In addition to working as a freelance photographer I taught art and photography workshops to adults, inner city youth and individuals with special needs.
