Ginnie's profile

In July of 2007 Ginnie McKnight left her home in Chicago, and moved to Baltimore, MD. She realized she didn't have any Art work on her walls. So she purchased her first canvas, Acrylic paint & brush set, and began her discovery of her natural born talent. Ginnie ventured into painting with oil in 2011, and shortly after had her first solo exhibit at the African American Heritage Festival in Baltimore. Each exhibit space she's been a part of grows each year. in June of 2012 her Art work was on display in Times Square, New York for the inaugural Art Takes Times Square Exhibit 2012. In August of 2013 her Harriet Tubman Painting was a Part of the inaugural Global Art League Exhibit in Montreal, Canada. In 2018 she used her combined talents in Visual Artistry and Technology to create her 1st Short Documentary Film. This film "Moving Home the Short Documentary" was Accepted into the 71st Cannes Film Festival in France, invited to the 2018 At&t Film Awards in Los Angeles, CA and is still being invited to over 250 global film festivals. Mixing innate creativity, skill, and opportunity, Ginnie McKnight is sharing her Art with the world as a championed advocate for profoundly gifted foster care youth whose talents are unidentified. Her life is a story of perseverance and strength, and she shares this message in her Artistry. Her message, “I Am a Painter, Artist, Lover, and Blossoming” serves as a personal affirmation and mission to share her best, and to encourage others to do the same.
