Arabesque's profile

The Arabesque Duo is the husband and wife guitar duo of Kathrin Murray and Troy King. Formed in 2000, the duo's debut performance was at the Charlton Kings International Guitar Festival in Cheltenham, England. There, the composer Gilbert Biberian described them as "players of world stature." Since then, the duo has performed all across the United States, in such cities as New York, Baltimore, Washington, DC, Mendocino, CA, Honolulu, HI, and at the Interlochen Arts Festival in Michigan. In December of 2011, the duo released it's first recording on the Centaur Record label: "Piano Music for Two Guitars," which features works by Johannes Brahms, Joaqin Turina, Edvard Grieg, Enrique Granados and Claude Debussy.

The husband and wife duo reside in Towson, MD with their two sons who are 8 months old and 2 years old. Troy King is a lecturer in guitar at Towson University. Kathrin Murray teaches guitar at Baltimore School for the Arts and is an adjunct professor in guitar at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD.
