Andrew's profile

DuCru is what happened when a group of hometown friends got together for a random jam session and ended up creating a sound so visceral and hard-hitting that they all stuck around for more. Hailing from Baltimore, this young modern rock band creates a sound and emotion that could only come from years of shared personal and musical experiences. With their slamming riffs and beautiful compositions, the band has managed to craft a loud and unique sound, carefully drawing from their influences—Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and Deftones.

After forming in June 2012, DuCru spent a year writing and recording their debut EP, A Language Apart. The band paired the music that instinctively came to them as a group with months of pre-production to get the best sound in the studio. With help from producer/engineer Matt Bittman (The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In, Bosnian Rainbows), the band’s first release is heavy sounding, while also wrought with vibrant guitar tones and catchy hooks.

DuCru’s debut EP, A Language Apart, was released June 4, 2013 and recorded at Wright Way Studios in Baltimore, MD. A Language Apart is now available for FREE download here ( ducru.bandcamp.com ).
