The Chesapeake Bay has a rusting remnant sitting on a sand bar. Built as a Liberty ship in Baltimore's Fairfield dry-dock (where my Father worked) it has been the target for aircraft, artillery, and commandos for close to 50 years.
It has a strange beauty as you head out to her.
Sun light illuminates the holes. On the shady side it hard to understand what she is.
She is still being used.
