Lily's profile

Lily lived and made work in Baltimore until 2014. She choreographed around town primarily as the founder of Effervesent Collective. She also directed movement for for Annex Theater and Single Carrot Theater, and performed frequently in the High Zero Music Festival. She worked on many early productions with Baltimore Rock Opera Society (BROS), from the very first Grundlehammer to the complex choreography of Murdercastle. She worked with many Baltimore musicians, including Dan Deacon, Bosley, and Andrew Bernstein. Lily graduated from Goucher College in 2009 with an interdisciplinary BA in Dance and Anthropology. Lily's primary physical practice while in Baltimore was derived from Gaga (from Israel) and Flying Low (from Venezuela, via Belgium). Lily also gets down with vernacular jazz; she lindy-hopped at Mobtown Ballroom and spent 2009-2012 humbly attempting to lock, break, and club with Guardian Baltimore, a vernacular dance preservation group directed by Breai Mason-Campbell.  While in Baltimore she also worked for Chef Chad Gauss at City Cafe and later The Food Market. She also volunteered and worked for Squashwise Baltimore.
