Andrei's profile


 
     Andrei Trach was born in Staten Island, New York.  He has studied and exhibited in New York City at the New York Studio Program in Soho.  He received his B.F.A. from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1995.  In 1996 he had a seventy five-piece Solo Exhibition at the University of Baltimore Law School.  Mr. Trach’s work has been featured in many juried shows.  In 1999 he exhibited at the Benjamin Banneker Museum in “Ellicott City, Catonsville, Oella Arts.”  Trach has also exhibited in invitational shows such as “The 2003 Annapolis Art Show”.   In 2004 he had a retrospective solo exhibition at Mill River Gallery in Ellicott City, MD.    He has received numerous awards for his art.  In 1994 he received a Merit Award from Baltimore artist Raoul Middleman in the “Emerging Artists Exhibit” at the Gallery on the Circle.  In 1999 he received First Prize in “The Laurel Art Guild’s Spring Show at Quiet Waters.  And more recently he was awarded honorable mention from Baltimore Museum of Art Director Christopher Bedford in "Art Maryland 2016".   And Honorable Mention in "Art Howard County" in 2017 by Juror Thomas Engleman.   His large-scale sculpture “Vainglorious Bluebird,” is on permanent display at Centennial Park in Hyattsville, MD.  His large scale absract paintings were presented in his solo exhibit, “Primal Ambition” at the Montpelier Art Center in Laurel, MD in 2015.   In 2021 he exhibited  in the Cumberland Valley Artists Exhibit at the Washington County Museum of Fine Art in Hagerstown, MD.   Also in 2021 he had a solo exhibit at the Watkins Nature Center in Upper Marlboro, MD and a virtual solo exhibit at the Rouse Company Foundation Gallery at Howard County Community College.  Andrei Trach maintains a studio at the Howard County Center for the Arts in Ellicott City, MD.
